Amongst the myriad of custom motorcycles exhibited in the recent MotoBuilds Pilipinas at the 2017 Trans Sport Show, Mr. Wille Tee Ten, President of Autohub, Inc., launched the new motorcycle brand, the UM (United Motors) Motorcycles. In a sea of bike enthusiasts, Mr. Tee Ten couldn’t have chosen a better venue to announce his latest product.
UM Motorcycles joins its prestigious auto siblings, namely, Rolls Royce, Lotus, Nissan, Mini and Vespa scooters.
UM is a fairly new player in the motorcycle world, established in the early 2000s in Florida, USA. Although UM is an American brand, it has already established its presence in South America. It has also entered the European market through Portugal and further south in Kuwait. Presently, UM has about 1,200 dealerships all over the globe.
Autohub Group has wisely chosen UM Motorcycles to penetrate the lucrative small-displacement-motorcycle market. With sleek design different from current offerings, UM promises a more enjoyable and spirited performance, not to mention competitive prices-ranging from P49, 900.00 for the NITROX 150 to P175, 000.00 for the Adventure TT 150.
With a fast growing motorcycle market in the Philippines, UM officials also hinted of establishing a local assembly line, depending on the acceptance of Filipino consumers. With the initial models shown at the MotoBuilds 2017, I can see UM Motorcycles giving the competition a run for its money.
UM’s first dealership will be located on Ortigas Avenue in Greenhills, San Juan.
